On the go? There’s no need to sacrifice style for practicality when it’s time to go hands-free. This week we’re venturing out of the man cave and into the Spring sunshine to take ourselves for a spin with five of our favourite fashionable backpacks of the season. Each of these five of these good-looking backpacks, hand-picked by the Barrington Watchwinder team, is as stylish as any designer briefcase.
Let’s pack up and hit the road!
1. The Vel-Oh Backpack (£155)
This London-based cycling brand produces some downright desirable gear for any bloke who has to face the commute every day. Made from 100% heavyweight cotton which has been waxed for excellent water-resistance, this sleek, sophisticated design is understated but entirely on trend. And it’s big enough to comfortably fit your laptop too.
2. Ranger Backpack by Filson (£175)We love a contemporary product with a rugged feel which harkens back to the traditional stylings of yesteryear. This leather-strapped, twill backpack was inspired by vintage forestry packs and features a removable zipped pocket and divider, plus a roomy interior, all protected by a secure storm hood.
3. LACOOL Backpack from Ted Baker (£119)
The finish on this durable fabric backpack gives is an almost leather-grained look which feels ultra-modern and chic. Featuring shoulder padding, plenty of pockets and a leather handle, this is a backpack which combines solid performance with unmistakably sharp looks. It’s a winner.
4. AEL002 from Alchemy (approx £140)
This New Zealand brand creates impeccable contemporary luggage which exists in that pure sweet spot between extreme functionality and practical beauty. A little like Brutalist architecture, this solid, rugged structure isn’t fussy or fancy, instead, it has a utilitarian appeal which looks damn fine on the daily commute. It’s a generous 30L too, so there’s plenty of room for all your kit.
