Are you hoping for a bottle of something which smells excellent beneath the Christmas tree this year? If you’re a fan of male fragrance, you’re spoiled for choice this year, but how can you decide which scent belongs on your wishlist? To help you make the right decision, our watchwinder experts have put the day job (briefly) on ice to share their favourite men’s fragrances for Christmas 2015.

1. Acqua di Parma Colonia Club

Acqua di Parma Colonia Club

A fresh fragrance from a classic brand who seriously know how to make a fine cologne. This new take blends the retro, masculine base of Aqua di Parma with a distinctly modern minty note which brings it bang up to date.

2. Jo Malone Incense & Cedrat Cologne

Jo Malone Incense & Cedrat Cologne

Better known for creating fragrance pour femme, Jo Malone has shot to global fame for a reason – the fragrance is sublime. This unisex version is decadently rich in (responsibly sourced) frankincense, with a lifting lemony edge and a distinctly masculine peppery note.

3. Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi

Tom Ford Mandarino Di Amalfi

Voted luxury men’s fragrance of the year back in the spring, Mandarino di Amalfi is a deliciously citrussy and herby blend of tarragon, grapefruit, mint, lemon and basil, with a warm, spicy (but not overbearing) base of orange blossom, coriander, black pepper, musk, amber and vetiver. Modern masculinity in a bottle.

4. Intoxicated by Kilian

Intoxicated by Kilian

Here’s a fragrance from leftfield by indie perfume makers Kilian. This is not a fragrance for every man, but if you love rich, warm and musky scents with an edgy feel, this is the cologne for you, with a distinct tang of Turkish coffee with cardamom and spices.

5. Dior Homme Intense

Dior Homme Intense

Not a brand new fragrance for 2015, but a definite winner this year. Well loved by both the industry and the public, this is a game-changing scent with intense iris notes backed up by a woody, amber-infused base.
